We left at 7 in the evening, thinking the girls would sleep the whole way and we would have a peaceful drive. The girls slept for a few hours but neither of them came anywhere close to sleeping the entire way. Avalon was a great traveler even though she didn't sleep much. Julie on the other hand could not wait to get out of that car seat. She was pretty vocal about it too :)
Aside from a very long drive with one unhappy camper, our time in Los Alamos was lots of fun.
Avalon absolutely LOVES snow and she was beside herself with joy to be able to play in the snow in Ouma's backyard. We also took the girls up to the ski hill one day and played on a little plastic saucer.
We had a great time with Daneel's family and we were also able to see some very dear friends.
AND we celebrated Daneel's very first 29th Birthday! After he blew out his candles, Avalon looked at him and said, 'Daddy, I'm so proud of you for blowing all your candles out by yourself.' We all were :)
The girls modeling their dresses that Aunt Liese-Marie brought them back from East Asia.
The Big Twenty-Nine!

Happy 1st 29th Birthday Daneel! ;) (I don't know why I think that's so funny...) Too bad about Julie not sleeping. Maybe next year? :)
