On Saturday after Thanksgiving, we had a really fun Christmas celebration with Daneel's parents. They are going to be back in South Africa for Christmas this year celebrating with the rest of Daneel's family. We would love to have been able to join them there, but Daneel's Christmas bonus was a wee bit less than what we needed to buy 4 plane tickets to South Africa. Maybe next year :)
Because we were still finishing up Thanksgiving leftovers, we opted out of making a big Christmas dinner. Instead we picked up dinner from a bar-b-que restaurant and ate it on a beautifully decorated table at home. It was delectable! (I highly recommend Hog's Heaven for all you local friends) :)
We had leftover Thanksgiving pie for dessert and then moved into the living room for presents. Avalon gets more and more excited about Christmas every year. It is so fun to watch her enthusiasm. She probably asked me 90 times if it was time for Christmas yet.
I've been trying to be very intentional about talking with Avalon about the true meaning of Christmas and doing our advent calender, but this night was all about the presents.
Julie had little interest in presents but was pretty excited about the fact that she had a plethora of seats to choose from.
