Last fall we were still getting used to having a new baby and we didn't take too many excursions. A year later however, we are well-seasoned parents, ready to take on any adventure.
And that we did. On Sunday several families from our lifegroup decided to take a little jaunt over to the state fair in Dallas. With the exception of the extreme heat, it was a delightful day, full of firsts for our little family..
Daneel ate his FIRST EVER corn dog. Now that he's an American citizen (information on that in a post to come) he really couldn't put that one off much longer.

I think she preferred the corn dog.

1st time we'd ever heard of or sampled fried butter and chicken fried bacon. Don't worry, we didn't let Avalon sample those.
1st family trip to the state fair.

I would really like to know what fried butter is. And how exactly do you flavor it like grape jelley?
All this talk of Fried butter makes me want to hurl! I think they took it too far this year!
I love the new look of your blog - the fair sounded like a lot of fun!
so fun... way to break Daneel in to fine Texas cuisine... Avalon is an angel as usual... too fun;)
