The girls were decked out in their Minnie Mouse attire and were ready for some fun!
I'm really glad we planned our trip for when we did. The park was somewhat crowded (I don't think Disney ever has a day that is not crowded) but the longest we ever waited in line was somewhere between 20 and 30 minutes. And that was rare.
Taking advantage of fast passes really helped with the wait time.

It certainly didn't hurt that Ms. Sondrea had come prepared with bubbles for the girls to blow while they waited in line. That kept the girls and other children entertained as well.
Favorite events of the day included the Little Mermaid ride and getting to meet 'the REAL Ariel' :)
The girls also really enjoyed Peter Pan's Flight, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and another round on the carousel. Their all time favorite rides were probably the Barnstormer - a roller coaster and the Dumbo ride. Julie was just tall enough to ride the roller coaster and she thought it was the greatest thing. As soon as she got off she immediately begged to ride it again. :)
Something else we did that was really fun was watching the 3D show, Mickey's Philharmagic. We probably wouldn't have considered going without the pass to get in immediately, but I'm so glad we did. It turned out to be a great break in the middle of a very warm day. Both girls thought the show was hilarious and they kept reaching out to grab the 3D images that were jumping out at them. We all enjoyed that one.
In the evening we had our first character meal with Winnie the Pooh and friends. As we were waiting outside the restaurant for our name to be called, the girls kept peeking in the windows and squealing with excitement whenever they saw one of the characters walk by. "Look Mommy, I see the REAL Eeyore!!! I see the REAL Piglet!!' They could not wait to meet the characters.
Once inside the restaurant, Julie would yell every time she caught sight of a character. 'Hi Eeyore!! Over here Eeyore!! And she would wave her hands with excitement.' One would have thought they'd been best friends for years.
It was so much fun to see the experience through Avalon and Julie's eyes.
After we finished dinner, we went back to the park for a little bit to catch a couple more rides. We caught the bus to go back to our hotel fairly early in order to get the girls to bed early. That was the plan anyway, because Thursday morning would be a very early day for everyone.
After a day of nonstop fun in the park, the girls were wired. Avalon fell asleep sometime after 10 and Julie didn't crash until almost 11. Our 8:00 Breakfast reservations for Cinderella's castle would come very quickly..
