A Tale of Many Miles - The Sequel

After a wonderful time in Colorado, the girls and I headed south to New Mexico, where we stayed with Daneel's parents. The drive from Colorado Springs to Los Alamos should have taken 5 hours (maybe 6 six with stops) but we managed to squeeze it into a quick 8 hour trip. I don't think any of us have been so happy to get out of the car as we were on that day :)
Our time is New Mexico was a lot of fun. The girls got to spend quality time with Ouma and Oupa, as well as Oupa Ossie (Sandra's father from South Africa). It was a really special trip. The girls also enjoyed playing with their Aunt Liese.
We stayed pretty busy while we were in New Mexico. We spent several mornings swimming with friends at a pool where I used to swim when I was little.
We visited a few parks, played in the sprinklers, went on an overnight trip to Albuquerque to visit some treasured friends there. We made s'mores with friends, went to a couple of movies in the park, and enjoyed the beautiful weather.
Daneel flew out to join us for his dad's birthday and for Father's Day weekend. We were SO happy to see him. For the first day that Daneel was back with us, Julie would glare and say 'MY Daddy' to anyone that came too close to Daneel.
We had a fun Father's Day celebration with Daneel, Oupa, and Oupa Ossie. It was a really sweet time.
The next day, our family of four got back in the car and returned to Texas.
We had a great trip, but it was so refreshing to get back home.
